Traveling with children

Everything you need to know before flying with children and infants on Air Haifa

Who are considered children and who are babies?

  • Infants: Passengers who have not yet celebrated their second birthday on the date of departure. They sit on the parent's lap and require a flight ticket. If the infant's birthday falls between the outbound and return flights‚ please contact us to purchase the appropriate ticket
  • Children: From age two to 11 years (until the 12th birthday). They receive their own seat on the flight

Minors

Aged 12 and over

May fly unaccompanied‚ subject to presenting the following documents:

  • On domestic flights: A copy of the ID card of both parents‚ including the appendix where the children are listed
  • On international flights: A notarized authorization in English confirming the parents' consent for the minor to travel unaccompanied

Under the age of 12

Must fly accompanied by a parent or an adult aged 16 or older‚ subject to presenting the following documents:

  • On domestic flights: A copy of the ID card of the parent not joining the flight‚ or of both parents if neither are joining‚ including the ID appendix where the children are listed
  • On international flights: A suitable notarized authorization in English‚ evidencing the parents' consent for the minor to travel with one parent or another adult companion aged 16 or older

Strollers and safety seats

You may take up to the aircraft door‚ free of charge‚ only one of the following items:

  • A fully foldable baby stroller
  • A baby carrier
  • A car safety seat

Before boarding‚ the crew will take the equipment and place it in the aircraft hold. Yoyo strollers may be taken into the cabin provided there is available space in the overhead bins.

Baby food on the flight

In checked baggage sent to the aircraft hold: There are no restrictions on food or liquids.

In your carry-on:

  • On domestic flights and international flights from Haifa - there are no restrictions on food or liquids
  • On international flights to Israel - baby food must be powder or liquid up to 100 ml

It is not possible to use a refrigerator on the plane or provide hot/boiling water - please prepare accordingly.

Flying during pregnancy

Pregnant women can fly until week 35‚ as long as their health condition is normal and there are no complications.

From week 28 - a medical certificate must be provided up to 48 hours before the flight‚ which is also valid for the return flight if week 36 has not been reached.

When is flying prohibited?

  • From the 36th week onwards
  • When the return flight is after week 36
  • In cases of uncertainty regarding the progress of the pregnancy or expected complications

Tips for flying during pregnancy

  • Book an aisle seat in advance so you can get up and stretch your legs
  • Choose a daytime flight - it is generally more comfortable and relaxing
  • Drink plenty of fluids - especially on the plane‚ where the air is dry
