Flying with animals

We only allow guide and assistance dogs on board‚ subject to the authorities’ regulations. No other pets are permitted on the flight.

An assistance dog is a dog trained to assist a person with a disability in accordance with the law and trained at a training center recognized by the Ministry of Welfare.

If you wish to fly with a guide/assistance dog‚ you must notify us and send the required documents‚ as detailed below‚ up to 72 hours before the flight time‚ via email to: nagish@airhaifa.com.

What do you need to send us?

For international flights‚ the following must be submitted up to 72 hours before the flight time:

  • An assistance animal certificate issued by a training center recognized by the Ministry of Welfare‚ confirming that the dog has been trained and serves as an assistance dog. A guide dog for the blind is exempt from presenting this certificate
  • A flight permit from the Veterinary Services at the Ministry of Agriculture
  • A veterinary certificate confirming that the dog is vaccinated and fit to fly

For domestic flights‚ the following must be submitted up to 72 hours before the flight time:

Before and during the flight

  • The dog must be kept on a leash or in a harness from check-in until landing
  • We may ask that the dog be seated in the passenger's foot space so as not to block aisles or disturb other passengers
  • If the dog causes any damage‚ we reserve the right to charge the passenger for the cost of the damage
  • It is solely the passenger's responsibility to ensure compliance with all legal and entry requirements of the destination country or the State of Israel‚ including required documents‚ vaccinations‚ and permits. Air Haifa will not be held liable for non-compliance with these requirements

Refusal to transport

We may refuse to transport a dog in any of the following cases:

  • The required documents were not presented
  • The dog poses a direct threat to safety or health
  • The dog causes a disturbance during the flight‚ or its behavior indicates that it is not trained to behave properly in public spaces
  • Transporting the dog does not meet safety‚ security‚ or applicable legal requirements
  • The dog exhibits clear signs of illness or emits a strong odor
